Can you tell us about yourself?
Can you tell us about yourself?
Hello I’m Rosie! I currently work at Scissortrix in Christchurch. I genuinely love helping clients feel transformed, not just how they look, but in the confidence they carry when they leave.
Why did you choose to become an apprentice?
I enjoy learning and wanted to make sure I was qualified in this incredible industry.
What attracted you to this industry?
I’ve always loved both art and science, I believe hairdressing is the perfect combo of these two things!
What has been a memorable moment in your apprenticeship?
Besides winning Southern Apprentice of the Year…(!!!) I would have to say all the amazing off-site training and educational events I’ve been privileged to attend.
What advice would you give to someone starting a HITO apprenticeship?
There is a LOT of great free resources online – mainly Instagram – and I highly recommend that apprentices spend time just trawling reels for great tips and tricks from national and international artists!
What’s your favourite skill you’ve mastered during your apprenticeship?
I absolutely love all things balayage! Lived in colour really does make me happy.
Who has been your biggest inspiration throughout your apprenticeship journey?
I’ve been so lucky to work alongside some incredibly talented stylists over the last few years! Their passion, dedication and skills have been amazing to watch and learn from.
What are your career goals and aspirations?
I would love to do hairdressing overseas for a bit. I also want to learn/do more vivid work and work in the social media space.
